Creating a Buying Customers Segment in Klaviyo

Segmenting your buying customers in Klaviyo helps you target individuals who have made purchases, allowing for personalized follow-up campaigns, upselling, and customer retention strategies.

  1. Log In to Klaviyo: Access your Klaviyo account using your credentials.

  2. Navigate to Lists & Segments: On the dashboard, find and click on the 'Lists & Segments' section.

  3. Create a New Segment: Select the 'Create List/Segment' option and choose 'Segment'.

  4. Name Your Segment: Assign a descriptive name to your segment, like "Purchasing Customers".

  5. Define Segment Rules: Set up your segment rules to identify buying customers. Use conditions such as:

    • "What someone has done (or not done)" and select “Placed Order”.
    • Specify a time frame if needed, like “in the last 30 days” or “at least once”.
  6. Preview and Refine: Preview the segment to ensure it correctly identifies your intended audience. Adjust the rules if necessary.

  7. Save the Segment: Once satisfied with the criteria, save the segment.

  8. Utilize the Segment: Use this segment for targeted campaigns, such as special offers, loyalty programs, or product recommendations to enhance customer relationships.
